The Law of Attraction…IS ALWAYS AT WORK. We’d love to share one piece of evidence. Back in December, we wrote and co-signed a Comprehensive Birth plan and submitted it to the hospital prior to Cathryn giving birth (projected arrival date: 2/2/08). One of the opening statements was: "It is our desire to maintain as active and natural birth as possible, and that the birthing process be allowed to take its natural course of time, with as little medical intervention as is possible." What we didn't know was that the Universe had replied: "Your wish is my command".

It turned out that a week before expected, on a Sunday morning (1/27/97) the contractions began, and an hour later we were in the car heading over to the hospital. The drive took about 15 minutes. We pulled up outside emergency and Manuel ran out to find an escort with a wheel chair to get us to the labor and delivery wing – as was planned. Yes, Cathryn stayed alone in the car for those few minutes – as was also planned. 
 
Once again Universe demonstrated us two of its many Secrets: 1) you can plan all you want, but the miracle of life is what IS, how it IS, and when it IS. And 2) you are what you think and feel. From previous experience six years ago with Trinity’s birth (our first daughter) and from trusting Universe, we learned to stay calm, present, in direct communication with Higher Power and the emerging baby, thus we're better able to flow through the contractions in serenity and trust. This, our second birthing process, definitely had more Elevated lessons in store for us! By the time Manuel returned to the car with the hospital's escort, Cathryn was squatting on the passenger seat and the baby’s head was already crowning. The escort literally stuttered in disbelief and froze in his tracks. Thank God he didn't faint – since there weren't any hands available to catch him! With Cathryn's next natural push Baby Katrina’s head landed perfectly in Manuel's right hand. As Cathryn caught her breath, Manuel checked to make sure that the umbilical cord was not around the baby's neck. He then turned his head out of the car and shouted to a shocked escort: "Forget that wheelchair, we now need you to MOVE and get us a doctor or a nurse and a gurney immediately!" Manuel returned to attend the comfort of Mom and baby and shortly thereafter the delivery team arrived. Less than 60 seconds after Manuel let the nurse practitioner handle Katrina's head, the rest of her body was gently pushed out into the world and into mom's arms.
 
We were so grateful and excited to hold our little baby that we hadn't noticed the crowd of onlookers that we had attracted. By now they were clapping and cheering – a reaction similar to your plane landing in Puerto Rico:) - with great big smiles from every face. They were all so happy to witness such a miraculous event and many were all saying that it was the first time that they had seen a baby being born – especially a 'curbside' baby! With the umbilical cord still attached and the placenta not yet delivered, mom and baby hopped on the gurney and were wheeled off to the ER. Our room in the ER was just buzzing with excitement as all the nurses congratulated us on such a natural and stress free birth, all commenting (some gesturing in silent awe) that this indeed was a first for them too. Wow, we knew Daddy's a change agent, but Baby Katrina sure had an entrance to this world! 
Baby Katrina brought us a shift known as a Megadigm. A Megadigm is a total disruption to "business as usual" consciousness. Her arrival changed the perceptions of what's normal/expected of everyone involved in that birthing experience. Our obstetrician told us mom and baby were healthy AND that was the easiest birth he ever had (due to the fact that he wasn't even there)!!! One of the hospital administrators later told us that this only happens two maybe three times a year. Through this experience we've learned so much about planning AND trusting! We did plan a lot - like surrounding ourselves with positive minded individuals, reading only natural birthing and other empowering books, and always believing that a Force greater than us would guide us through every second of our blessed journey. We just never thought that the part about: "...the birthing process be allowed to take its natural course of time, with as little medical intervention as is possible…" would be taken so seriously by Universe. So remember, while it's good to write down your plans and desires, be clear about what’s been written (and why you want it). You just might manifest it in a very literal way!
